DragonBoat Race This Saturday

The 2014 DragonBoat Race is Saturday, August 26, and is once again part of the week-long Beaufort Water Festival. Local cancer survivors, and water sport enthusiasts who wish to support them, have formed a Beaufort County mixed recreational and racing DragonBoat team. Twenty paddlers sitting side-by-side in a dragon-headed 42 foot-long vessel, paddling furiously to the beat of an insistent drummer. The goal: physical wellness and psychological well-being through this thrilling, team-oriented support program that even offers opportunities to travel to competitions worldwide.
